“On My Way” was inspired by a trip down south while I was battling some major headwinds, to put it mildly. The song marinated, churned and evolved for about two years before I was finally able to get into the studio with my band and lay it down. While visiting New Orleans, it was clear that some serious scars lay just beneath the good-time veneer, and that juxtaposition resonated with me more deeply than I realized at the time. It became clear as I put pen to paper and started writing the song.
